Chess Parents and Coaches, Summer break is here and there is still availability at a chess camp next week at the Shoreview Community Center. Sign up using the following link. Search for CHESS. There are two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Sorry for the late notice and I am sure most parents have made plans for their little chess players, but this is a great opportunity to sharpen up on those game playing skills! There is a group called Turtle Lake & Friends.  Feel free to request a membership to this group or contact me directly through Chess.com or via email.  My username in chess.com is Snuffles_Dad or via email, richardlessard1@gmail.com.

Just a friendly reminder, no chess club this Friday.  The end of the year celebration was a big hit last Friday, April 26th.  All the players that attend enjoyed the awards, juice and donuts.

 

Looking forward to this summer for chess... 

  - Chess Camp In Hopkins, hosted by SCA (school chess association).  See SCA website.  Link.  Some of Turtle Lake players are attending in July and August this year.  Please let me know if you plan to attend and I send you others that may be attending the same week.

  - Advanced players - Chess Castle Website.  Monday Night tournaments at Chess Castle in Minneapolis. 

  - May 11th, Igor is hosting a tournament in Hopkins.  See attachment. 

On-Line Chess...

  - Many Turtle Lake players have on-line Chess.com accounts (including my son).  If you are interested in playing games against other Turtle Lake players, please let me send me a message and I will be sure to connect you with others in our school.  

  - Parents interested in playing On-Line chess, I would be happy to connect you with other parents that are interested in playing in our area (with kids in chess clubs).

  - I have also started a Turtle Lake chess.com group, if you have an user name.  Look it up and request a membership or I will send you a request.

 

Next year (Fall 2013)...

  - Registration will begin during "Back To School Night" in August.  Watch for school communications.
